Position Summary and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Grounds Manager, the Turf Management Leader is responsible for synthetic and natural turf on sports fields and campus lawns including renovation and upkeep/maintenance. This position is considered essential during weather related closings.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage following a 90 day waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Striping of fields, infield grooming, aerating, dethatching, sweeping of lawns and turf.
• Work closely with athletics directors/coaching staff for game and practice management.
• Oversee and coordinate outside contractor work on sports fields.
• Direct and lead assigned staff on day to day operations.
• Fertilize and control weed growth manually or chemically.
• General landscaping including the maintenance of trees, shrubs and ornamentals.
• Perform hot and cold patch repairs to paved surfaces.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems.
• Operate various equipment and vehicles.
• Collect trash from outside receptacles, including litter removal, recycling, and event
  set ups and break downs.
• Utilize EMS and TMA event and work order systems.
• Order necessary supplies and materials.
• Remove snow/ice from walks, drive and parking lots.
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to after hour calls.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in turf management or a degree in turf management.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, Google Drive.
• Ability to lift 80lbs.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• NYS pesticide license required category 3a and 3b.
• Valid NYS drivers license.
• Wildlife nuisance certification preferred.
