About Walmart Energy Transformation

The Walmart Energy Transformation team is a newly reimagined energy team that was created to ensure the team has the resources and internal positioning to deliver on Walmart's energy-related regenerative goals. The team now reports directly to the COO of Walmart US and the Chief Sustainability Officer.

This new organization is responsible for:

Buying energy and optimizing for the lowest cost in regulated and wholesale markets. Meeting our renewable's goal of 100% renewables by 2030 Increasing the energy efficiency and reducing emissions across our facilities Meeting our 2040 Zero Emissions goal, including transitioning our fleet to zero emissions vehicles

We are a team of seasoned energy veterans dedicated to realizing Walmart's regenerative commitments and leveraging Walmart's platform to support the decarbonization of our customers, associates, communities and suppliers. Because energy touches everything, we work across Walmart, particularly real estate, facilities, supply chain, network design, transportation and customer experience. We have come from across Walmart, utilities, developers, banking, clean energy consulting and environmental NGOs. We are innovators and change agents determined to make an impact. What you will do...

Designing and implementing Walmart's strategy for energy efficiency within Walmart's global operations by collaborating with company business owners, suppliers, and external influencers (for example, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government officials, academics); and ensuring Walmart's energy goals are enhanced and fulfilled through company strategic initiative efforts.

Managing multiple large, complex projects, processes, and programs that include independencies across multiple groups, including internal and external stakeholders to identify goals, success criteria assumptions, and risks; forecasting internal and external resources (for example, legal, finance, partners) based on projects and strategic goals; anticipating and ensuring resolution of complex and critical issues; monitoring progress as compared to plan; tracking expenditures and budgets; overseeing development of implementation materials; and ensuring alignment with similar company-wide initiatives to leverage or report out on.

Driving the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

Managing the measurement and reporting of financial (such as energy savings) and non-financial (such as CO2 emission reductions) metrics to drive business performance, partnering with multiple departments on incorporating energy use into business plans and budgets.

Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Sciences, Finance or related field and 5 years' experience in operations management or related area OR 7 years' experience in operations management, or related area.
