SummaryReporting to the Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer (CIEO), Tulane University Innovation Institute, the Venture Lab Program Director will be responsible for executing the Institute's vision for a startup accelerator/venture lab. This role will work closely with the CIEO to bring best-in-class practices, people, and processes to entrepreneurs in the TUII community. In addition, this role will assist with the build out of a student and/or alumni venture fund, including but not limited to interfacing with Tulane stakeholders, coordinating fund startup logistics, administering grant dispersion, reporting performance.
Required Qualifications●Bachelor's Degree; Minimum of five (5) years' experience in entrepreneurship, business/startup consulting, venture capital/private equity, economic development, supplier diversity, community development, corporate engagement and/or equivalent industry experience.
●Prior SSBCI investments and programs, preferred●Experience/registered in investing, managing, mentoring and exits of early stage and startup businesses.●Knowledge in finance and fund accounting systems.●Knowledge and use of tax-credit and tax advantage programs relating to early-stage investment and State-sponsored or Federal small business and disadvantaged business incentives.●Technology, Bio-Tech, energy, and complex IP systems analysis, preferred ●Knowledge of fund management platform (such as Carta/Angel List)
