Position Overview
Vice President Business Development and Strategy in AI
Located in Princeton, New Jersey, Siemens Healthineers DTI is the central hub for R&D in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Technologies for Siemens Healthineers. Our research scientists and software engineers specialize in using large collections of data to build artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare, in close collaboration with government agencies, universities, and healthcare providers. Our research has been translated to multiple clinical products focused on improving quality of care, specifically in the fields of diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and personalized medicine.
The VP for Business Development and Strategy in AI will be responsible for identifying and developing new AI business opportunities in healthcare, building strategic partnership and alliances, developing AI-focused business and product strategies, and maintaining technology roadmaps, while working together with the operating business companies and the DTI team.
Responsibilities
• Identify New Opportunities: Discover and pursue new AI-related business opportunities, together with Siemens Healthineers operating companies, including but not limited to applications in medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics, interventional imaging, radiation therapy, and hospital optimization.
• Strategic Partnerships and Alliances: Build partnerships with business units, clinical customers, technology vendors, universities, and other companies to accelerate AI R&D and deployment.
• Develop AI-Focused Business Strategies: Formulate and implement long-term AI strategies that align with the company's broader objectives, focusing on how AI can drive business growth, innovation, and efficiency.
• AI Product Strategy: Collaborate with product development teams to create or enhance AI-based products and services, ensuring that they meet customer needs and market demand.
• Technology Roadmap: Shape the company's AI technology roadmap by identifying key areas for investment and development in machine learning algorithms, data infrastructure, or AI solutions.
• Ethical AI Development: Ensure that AI development follows ethical guidelines, with a focus on fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI models and data usage.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to align technical development with business goals, ensuring that AI products meet market demands.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• PhD degree: AI or related technical area.
• Business Acumen: Strong business and financial understanding, with the ability to translate AI opportunities into viable business ventures and revenue streams.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term AI strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and market opportunities.
• Leadership & Team Management: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including technical AI teams and business development professionals.
• Partnership Building: Expertise in building strategic partnerships with technology providers, research institutions, and other stakeholders in the AI ecosystem.
• Communication & Negotiation: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate deals effectively.
• Innovation Mindset: Ability to foster a culture of innovation and identify cutting-edge AI technologies that can be integrated into business models.
• Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI projects, including ethical risks, financial risks, and technical challenges.
• Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams, and overseeing the development and implementation of business strategies.

• Entrepreneurial Mindset: The ability to identify and capitalize on emerging AI business opportunities, often requiring out-of-the-box thinking and an innovative approach.
• Global Perspective: Knowledge of global AI markets, regulations, and business practices, as well as experience in expanding AI businesses across international markets.
